Our girl has her problem solving skills in effect. Today we woke up for her to run straight to the wrapping paper roll to then use it to turn the lights on she cannot reach. Now she has loved playing with the lights when we are holding her near them for quite some time...BUT she came up with this clever maneuver all on her own. She makes us SO proud.
This is the story about the lives of Elena and Ian. Big sister and little brother. All family and friends come along for their journey. Watch them grow and progress all along the way.

"Problem solving skills"
Our girl has her problem solving skills in effect. Today we woke up for her to run straight to the wrapping paper roll to then use it to turn the lights on she cannot reach. Now she has loved playing with the lights when we are holding her near them for quite some time...BUT she came up with this clever maneuver all on her own. She makes us SO proud.
All dressed up
Elena the little "ham"
Here are more pictures of Elena enjoying having her photos taken...and no I did not ask her to pose for any of these. This is what she comes up with on her own. She also enjoys looking at the photos on the camera after they are taken. Such a little "ham" we have. Oh yeah and a nice view of her chompers.

Dressing Up
Okay so here is a little story I would like to share and try to picture this if you can. I am in labor with Elena out walking the halls. I have a contraction and need to prop myself up against the wall and breathe on through....when something catches my eye. I stop and take a double take. Diederik and I really cannot believe what we are seeing. There in front of us is a man walking down the halls with his little girl. This little girl is probably 3 or 4 years old. Now what is so special or standing out about her you wonder. Well I will tell you this little girl was walking the hall with swimming fins. Tromping all the way down trying to walk as best as she can in these huge fins! The dad looks at us seeing our strange looks on our faces ( as if I had much room to talk I was in my hospital gown ) and he says" this is going to be you one day" and chuckled. Diederik and I have brought that moment up many of times. Now fast forward to 1 1/2 year later and we now have approached that time. Case and point- ha ha.

HALLOWEEN Continued
HALLOWEEN!!
Elena on her 2nd Halloween. She dressed up as a monkey and had a very good time. Saturday night we went to a kids party ( very large one at that ) and she did her best keeping up with all the older bigger kids. She ate a yummy cupcake she won with the cupcake walk game and loved to run all over! Sunday she dressed up again in her costume and helped pass out candy. She really enjoyed running to the door each time someone was there to see what they looked like. FUN TIMES!
