Elena is in her third swim class this summer..here she is on her way to her final week of swim before school starts soon. Ian also is here in his big boy sun glasses.

Big Helper

Recently Elena has taken to feeding Ian and he enjoys it...he also eats more this way.

Pirates

Elena attended VBS this year and so all week she got to dress up and act like a pirate.

Wild Hair

From time to time mom has called Elena wild hair..and here is one of the reasons why......

During fort time she got her hair all matted and dreaded up so we sang the Gangham style song the kids love so much but saying " Laneys wonkey style"..they really enjoyed this fun time of singing, dancing and just being silly!

Chairs + Sheet = Forts

Here is something else we do for fun at random times. We have been making these off and on for a couple years now. We really enjoy our little forts. Just a few chairs and a sheet go a long way! These usually get used off and on for a day or two at a time. We do stories, play trucks or watch movies from this little kids zone.

Race Track

Off to the race track. Here are the kids having fun with a little chalk roadway. We played lots of red light, green light on this as well. They really got

a lot of enjoyment out of it a good chunk of the day.

Another Memory

As you know I put different things here, and this post is one of those " I don't want to forget this statement/ moment moments". So today we were listening to some songs on a soundtrack we enjoy and Elena says " whenever I hear this song it makes me want to cry"...I then say "why"..she proceeds with "because it is so beautiful". Ugh she is growing just so, so fast!

Melting Hearts

So I have to share because this makes me very proud and touched. Today Friday 7.18.14 Elena, Ian and Mom went for a walk. As we walk the kids always pick dandelions and make wishes. Today while we walked Elena picked one and made her wish and blew...later she said "mom do you want to know what I wished for?" I said sure she then said "I made a wish for you"...."I wished that you could have brother Dirkey pants back with you." I don't know how this came up in her head but it sure was very thoughtful and just a very proud moment for a mom and a mom of a 5 year old saying this.

The fam went to the fair....we got to meet Joleen and Bruce there as well to help make the day even more fun and special. The kids had lots of treats to eat and lots of rides as well. Definitely

a fun day for everyone!

Beach Outing

Mom, Dad, Oma, Opa, Elena and Ian all went out for a beach outing the other day..lets just say it was a day to remember for all. Here are a couple photos.

First Tooth

Elena lost her first tooth the other day right before swim class. This tooth dangled and laid for several days before it finally popped out when getting bumped putting on her seat

belt..boy was she ever excited!

This is why we do this outside in the backyard and with little/ no clothes to dirty .

Painting Time

The kids were outside painting the other day..boy did they enjoy themselves! Elena being clever came up with a 4th of July theme to her photo without any reminder or nudging. We did this about one week before the 4th and I was quite surprised when I saw her coming up with it all on her own.

One More Milestone

Elena recently graduated Preschool..off

to Kindergarten once summer is over. Many loose teeth also, one is on its way out any second!

Frozen

As you have probably seen earlier Elena's Oma made her a "Frozen" dress. She wanted a wig to go with the costume and she worked hard to earn it so here it is. Also this will be her Halloween costume..already done check that off
